CHECK IT OUT! WORDS IN THE NEWS

No Comments 1420 Views0

There are so many different ways to learn a language, so every Friday we’ll be posting a recommendation. These will vary from webpages and youtube channels, to TV series and apps for your phone. So, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced student, old or young…there will be something here to help you improve your English!

This week we’re recommending BBC’s Learning English: Words in the News.

Each week they feature a different video clip from the news and highlight specific vocabulary. You are given the opportunity to watch and listen to the news piece, before reading the transcript. They then offer definitions for the vocabulary, and even provide a short gap fill exercise so that you can practise using the new vocabulary in context!

Here’s a link to one that they did about what happens to Christmas Trees after the holidays.
