BRING (SOMEONE) UP to raise, to rear a child. (educar, criar)

I was brought up by my parents, who brought you up?

My parents brought me up to be honest and hardworking.

I live in Spain now but I was brought up in England.

BRING (SOMETHING) UP to raise a topic in conversation, to mention something. (sacar un tema)

Don’t bring up politics or religion with people you don’t know.

Why did you bring that up in front of everyone?

I have an important topic that I would like to bring up at the meeting.
